Choosing between the two
Should my law firm use Track Billed Time or Track Law Time?
If you only need to capture hours and send invoices — and your trust accounting lives elsewhere (or you don't hold client funds) — Track Billed Time is the lighter, lower-cost choice. If you need IOLTA trust accounting, conflict checking, or want a shared court and judge knowledge base, choose Track Law Time. Both are built by the same team on the same engine.
What's included in Track Billed Time for a law firm?
Persistent timer, manual and bulk time entry, multi-matter invoicing with per-matter courtesy discounts, retainer drawdowns, realization and AR aging dashboards, role-based team access, and per-client visibility controls. Everything an hourly-billing law practice needs — minus the legal-specific compliance tools that live in Track Law Time.
What does Track Law Time add?
An IOLTA-compliant trust ledger with atomic balance updates and low-balance alerts, a fuzzy-search conflict checker integrated into the new-matter flow, a firm-wide court and judge knowledge base preloaded with every Texas District and County Court at Law, and matter lifecycle tooling tuned for legal work.
Can I start with Track Billed Time and switch to Track Law Time later?
Yes. They're built by the same team on the same engine, and we offer white-glove data migration between them. Many solo attorneys start with Track Billed Time and upgrade to Track Law Time as the practice grows or trust accounting becomes a requirement.
How much does each one cost?
Track Billed Time starts at $10/user/month for solo, scaling down to $5/user/month at 10+ seats. Track Law Time pricing is listed at tracklawtime.com. Both offer a 30-day free trial (card required, no charge if you cancel within 30 days).
Do you support Texas courts specifically?
Yes — Track Law Time preloads every Texas District Court and County Court at Law in the shared knowledge base, including the {Nth} District format. Track Billed Time doesn't include the court directory.
